PBS KIDS Video App Reviews

We recently cancelled our cable in favor of a subscription service (playstation vue), knowing that pbs kids was unavailable except through the app. Each show has 4 episodes available, one is replaced every Friday. They arent necessarily new episodes or put in any particular order, you just kind of get a random episode. This is not nearly good enough. My kids have 2-3 shows they really enjoy and they will watch a show once or twice a day. I wish a new episode was replaced daily (or every time they air). We also have netflix, but of course the majority of pbs shows have been pulled off of it as well. Im so frustrated with pbs kids at the moment. These shows need to be more readily available. We mainly use the apple tv app, and it works very nicely otherwise.

App wouldnt work so I tried to uninstall it. Now its stuck on my device and is slowing it down.

My kids and I love this app. But now I cant ChromeCast it! A sort of menu appears, obviously not controlable from my phone, and Im unable to cast the shows. Please fix :-(

We love this app and use it daily. However lately it has been running quite slow.

After the update none of the videos will cast onto my Tv. It says its connected but shows a completely different screen on the tv than my phone.

I love love love this app for my son. But something happened yesterday and now I can no longer use it in combination with chromecast. When I cast from my app, the TV shows a website-like interface, plays the audio of the ad where Splash and Bubbles advertise the PBS Kids Video App, and then disconnects. When the tv displays the website-like interface, my chromecast settings in Google Home dont register the app as casting. I am able to cast from other apps. I tried changing my PBS station in settings. We tried rebooting the chromecast. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Hard reset my phone. Something is wrong. This is also happening on my husbands Google phone with the Android app. So sad. Im really hoping you can identify and resolve the problem.

Come on really?? Cant even cast the app anymore to the Apple TV or Chromecast.. FIX THE APP PLEASE!!

Streaming to chromecast isnt working. Used to just play from phone now it looks like its thinking the phone is a computer. Can this be fixed?

With the update, it now pulls up a website looking page when connecting with chromecast. It then wont proceed to cast any video, just shows a menu-like screen with an introduction. I will now be deleting the app and not watching, now that the cast doesnt work. What a disappointment.

This was just working fine. Now its a complete broken mess. Terrible.

Cant believe video duration isnt included. With no way to tell how much is left per show, its hard to gauge whether or not theres enough time for kids to finish a show before its time to put away devices.

The app was perfect before the last update. My daughter now becomes very frustrated with the videos stalling and failing to load. Other than that issue, we love the PBS apps. :)

This app is so great! Love it so much

What I love about this app is you can see re-runs of shows that have been cancelled, such as Maya&Miguel and Wordgirl. It runs fine and my kids love seeing their old favorites that are now gone!

Good app. Kids love most of the shows just wish it worked with chrome cast so we can watch it on the TV not just our iPhones

This app has great content. The new refresh is really puzzling. The profusion of commercials confuses and annoys my kids and makes them not like the app near as much. Now they mostly watch PBS content on other apps. The puzzling part is that the commercials are just for other PBS shows. Why interrupt PBS content with PBS content at the expense of the user experience? If they were paying commercials it mike make sense, but I am at a loss here.

My son (age 5) lives that he can watch all of his PBS favorites any time on the app. The only thing we dont like is that there is no timer so there is no way to know how much time is left on the videos.

My son just loves it he is 16 months old and can navigate it. Its really easy he just loves listening to the Thomas the engine song!

People would like it if there was an app called "The PBS Kids GO! Video app" so preschoolers would watch more shows so here is the reason why: PBS Kids GO! gives kids in Preschool and kids in grades Kindergarten-8th Grade education like reading, writing, math, science & Social Studies. And that is why there should be an app called The PBS KIDS GO! Video App. PS: Kids Might want their parents to write it in the reviews. Final Thought: Also you should make a game called PBS KIDS Racing with all your favorite PBS Kids Friends. and the show characters and you can make your own kart. Also I wanted to share my dream about PBS kids. I Was thinking about Four Nick Jr shows and Four Disney Jr shows moving into PBS KIDS. First I will tell these Nick Jr shows that should move into PBS KIDS and these shows are The Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, Blues Clues and The Backyardigans. And now here are The Disney Jr shows that should move into PBS KIDS and these shows are Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, Octonauts and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. So here is why I shared this, I wish you could ask Nick Jr and Disney Jr for those shows so you could make Kids in grades Kindergarten- 8th Grade Happy. So you should ask them for those shows and here are reasons why. Reason 1: Preschoolers and Kindergarten-8th Grade will be surprised when they see You made by dream come true by Asking Nick Jr for The Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, Blues Clues and The Backyardigans. And Asking Disney Jr For Little Einsteins, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Octonauts and Handy Manny. Reason 2: It would be Exciting to have those four Nick Jr shows And those Disney Jr shows on The PBS KIDS Block on the PBS Channel, The PBS KIDS Website and The PBS KIDS Apps. For Example, I have an Idea and The Idea is Making a show with those four Nick Jr Shows and those four Disney Jr shows called PBS KIDS Island With all of Kids favorite skits so you must have educational skits in your show like Language Arts skits, Math Skits, Science Skits, History Skits And other Skits. So that is why you should have The four nick Jr shows and four disney Jr shows I talked to you about them moving into PBS KIDS on The PBS KIDS channel in a show called PBS KIDS Island. Now we return back to The PBS KIDS GO! Video App. The shows I want In the PBS KIDS GO! Video App are Between the Lions, Sesame Street, Play With Me Sesame, Arthur, Postcards From Buster, The Electric Company, WordGirl, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, Barney and Friends, Cyberchase, Fizzys Lunch Lab, Zoom and Word World. Also I want SciGirls In The PBS KIDS GO! Video App. So I want you to make The PBS KIDS GO! Video App Please. I also want Reading Rainbow in The PBS KIDS GO! Video App. And Remember Those Dash and Dot Segments, I was asking that because You should also Put the Dash and Dot Segments In The PBS KIDS GO! Video App. Finally Wild Kratts should be on the PBS KIDS GO! Video App. Also I told Nick Jr And Disney Jr about that Dream I told you about, Those Four Nick Jr shows and Those Four Disney Jr shows moving into PBS KIDS. Also Nicks Noggin and Playhouse Disney are so awesome for Preschoolers and Kids in Kindergarten-3rd Grade So I Had another Dream About Four of The Nicks Noggin Shows And Four of The Playhouse Disney Shows Moving Into PBS KIDS GO! First Her Are The four Noggin shows: Ni Hao Kai Lan, Wow Wow Wubbzy, Blues Room & Jacks Big Music Show. Also Here Are the Four Playhouse Disney Shows: Higglytown Heroes, Jojos Circus, The Koala Brothers & The Doodlebops. And there is another dream of mine So in the PBS KIDS GO! Video App You should put the Four Nicks Noggin shows and The Four Playhouse Disney Shows in it. I forgot to tell you I also Want this Playhouse Disney show " PB&J Otter ". And You Should put In this Nicks Noggin Show " The Upside Down Show ". So that make Five Noggin shows and five Playhouse Disney shows moving into The PBS KIDS GO! Video App and PBS KIDS GO!. Now back to my First Dream I Told You about. I thought of The Nick Jr show "The Fresh Beat Band" & The Disney Junior show "Special Agent Oso" Moving into PBS KIDS Too So that make Five Nick Jr. shows and Five Disney Jr shows moving into PBS KIDS So put The Fresh Beat Band & Special Agent Oso in The PBS KIDS show PBS KIDS Island. This is About The PBS KIDS GO! Video App. You should really put Peep and the Big Wide World in the PBS KIDS GO! Video App. PBS KIDS Shoud Be a Cable and Satellite Channel because PBS KIDS would be so great for a TV Channel On all TV Providers.

I hate that you took all your shows off Netflix. I loved having them available on there because I can stream the shows to my tv. I hate hate having my kids use my phone and thats my only option now if I want them to watch something educational. So now I get to chance having my phone broken because I dont have a tablet or Apple TV to be able to stream your show to my tv. I have chrome cast. Its annoying you have commercials and its also annoying to have another app to have to use to watch the pbs shows just taking up more space when we all ready had Netflix.
